And so begins the end of our adoption wait. Anyone familiar with the process of international adoption (slowly falling in love with a child through one small photograph and a translated set of foreign documents) knows the longing a parent feels on a day to day basis while that love grows and you have to wait. And wait. And wait. Until the final few months before you travel and you feel confident enough in the system to begin preparations for bringing your baby home. We are relieved to finally be at that stage — getting Lu's room all ready, washing and folding his clothes and as Clara blows him a kiss every night, hearing her say "we're coming Lu, we'll see you soon!"
As is the nature of adoptions in China, we can only guess as to when we'll get our travel approval, but we think it could be April. Or maybe May. Or, worst case scenario, June. but hopefully not June. Check back in for new updates and photos and please feel free to post messages to Lu, we'll be sure to read them to him as soon as we're in China.
